Akasha, Anne, Solange and Celine from IKU play powerful songs, with angry guitar riffs influenced by The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Courtney Love's Hole and Sonic Youth. Iku stands up with the restless singer Akasha performing onstage with a powerful energy. Her lyrics, written in dark mood, are about broken loves, guilt, anger.

IKU are 4 pretty chicks who have dedicated their souls to the almighty Marshall rather than seducing their way into mainstream music, that's sure for the best. They play a solidly built, wild and loud punk-hardcore-metal rock'n'roll. "Extremist" et "Putrefaction" (my favorite) are the two numbers of that SP, now that's talking! Forget about the Plasticines and their post-teenage insipidness and surrender to the venomous and brutal charms of IKU, you won't lose on the deal. To be located somewhere between the Lunachicks and L7.

LP's come in every lengths. As far as Iku is concerned, a four-track is a LP. So this will be enough to figure out who are these "four genuine riot girls" (according to Rock & Folk magazine, who knows a whole lot about young bands from Paris, doens't it?). They say they are influenced by Nirvana, Sonic Youth and the Stooges, and one may add L7, for the rabid girl flavour. There are four of these noisy young ladies in studios, but cinq sur scène car une certaine Sandy est chargée des "slams", des "strip-teases" et autres "provocations" (à prononcer à l'anglaise car tout le dossier de presse est écrit dans la langue de Britney Spears). Attendons maintenant un vrai album...
